Travel Physical Therapist Job

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive PT evaluations and establish a plan of care with functional short- and long-term goals; select modalities and frequency; adjust as needed to progress toward outcomes.
- Deliver evaluative and therapeutic procedures per physician orders, monitor response, and modify the plan of care as indicated; document progress and outcomes.
- Document all patient interactions in the Electronic Medical Record per department procedures; ensure documentation is clear, accessible to the care team, and uses approved abbreviations.
- Educate patients and caregivers, provide instruction on assistive devices, and document teaching results; prepare patients for discharge planning as appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, Physical Therapist Assistants, and other therapy staff; refer patients to PTAs when appropriate; participate in relevant team meetings.
- Work with orthopedic patients, including those who have had joint replacements; follow interdisciplinary hip/knee replacement program guidelines and provide necessary education; maintain program standards and infection control practices.
Requirements
- Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Maine.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum English language proficiency to speak, read, write, and understand written instructions.
- Candidate must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the assignment location.
- Ability to work in a hospital-based, orthopedic-focused PT setting with rotating shifts.
