Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – PCU in Plattsburgh, NY. Travel assignment in an acute inpatient hospital setting. Start date 09/17/2026 for 6 weeks. Weekly pay range $2,595-$2,674 per week. Shift: 12-hour day shifts (3x12). This travel temporary assignment requires flexibility to float to appropriate units as needed.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult PCU patients, including continuous telemetry monitoring, frequent assessments, and rapid escalation of changes in condition.
- Administer medications and IV therapies per protocol, including insulin and cardiac drips; monitor hemodynamics and adjust care as ordered.
- Initiate IVs, perform EKGs, manage infusions, and participate in pre/post-procedure care (e.g., post-cardiac cath) as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, other RNs, and the broader care team; participate in care planning and patient education; document thoroughly in the EPIC system.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, manage the unit’s telemetry caseload, and respond to emergencies per unit protocols.
- Contribute to float coverage when assigned, while maintaining unit-specific standards (nurse-patient ratio approximately 3:1 on the PCU).
Requirements
- Licensure: New York RN license in good standing or active license on file at submission; NY license or proof of application required (applied date provided); licensure processing may take several weeks.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required prior to start.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of telemetry/PCU experience; minimum 1 year of clinical experience; Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required.
- Specialty and units: Ability to work in an acute inpatient PCU with telemetry and to float to other units as needed.
- Additional: Must be able to start within the next week per requisition notes.
