Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy assistant services under supervision within an LTAC/long-term care rehabilitation program, contributing to the patient’s plan of care.
- Lead and assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, mobility activities, and restorative strategies tailored to geriatric patients.
- Monitor patient progress, document interventions and outcomes, and communicate changes to the supervising therapist and care team.
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, activity progression, and activity modification to support continued recovery.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, rehabilitation therapists, and other disciplines to coordinate care, ensure safe transfers, and maintain equipment and treatment areas.
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and HIPAA requirements; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in Washington state or eligible for licensure
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program (Associate degree) or equivalent
- CPR/BLS certification
- Prior experience in a long-term care, LTAC, or skilled rehabilitation setting preferred
- Ability to work the stated shift (08:00–16:30) and participate in a travel assignment
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient-education skills
