Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for oncology patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Conduct ongoing assessments, plan care, implement treatments, and evaluate patient responses; administer prescribed medications and therapies following orders.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels, and coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, and other disciplines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care, patient safety, and alignment with treatment plans; communicate clearly with patients and families.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, monitor for changes in condition, and respond to emergencies with appropriate escalation.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to deliver quality care and support quality metrics.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license (state-specific as required for assignment)
- Oncology nursing experience or strong background in medical-surgical/acute care settings preferred
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts (3x12)
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Proven ability to coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and supervise nursing staff
- Eligibility to participate in a travel assignment and comply with role requirements
