- Setting: Medical Rehab Unit within an outpatient and inpatient substance abuse rehab program
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults in a medical rehab unit focused on substance abuse rehabilitation.
- Assess, document, and monitor patient status including vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed; monitor for adverse effects and ensure correct procedures.
- Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; adjust as patient needs evolve.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, safety, and recovery resources.
- Coordinate discharge planning, referrals to outpatient services, and follow-up care to support continued recovery.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing; NM state license or eligibility to practice in New Mexico.
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts as scheduled (Sun-Wed, Mon-Thurs, or Fri-Mon per shift patterns).
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment in a rehab setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; comfortable working in a medical rehab unit serving substance abuse patients.
- Proficiency with common electronic health record systems and accurate clinical documentation.
