Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and screening mammography procedures on patients, including proper positioning and compression.
- Acquire high-quality, radiographically accurate images in accordance with department protocols.
- Operate and troubleshoot digital mammography equipment; ensure correct use of software and PACS labeling.
- Adhere to radiation safety practices, patient shielding, and ALARA principles during imaging.
- Communicate with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure comfort throughout the exam.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other staff to review images and complete exam workflows efficiently.
Requirements
- Active radiologic technologist license appropriate for California and mammography credential requirements.
- Mammography certification or ARRT-M credentials as applicable in California.
- Demonstrated ability to position patients and obtain high-quality mammography images.
- Strong communication and patient care skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based setting.
- Availability for a day shift schedule (8:30 am start) and a 4x10-hour shift pattern.
- Willingness to travel for a temporary assignment (13 weeks) in the stated location.
