Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room and PACU, including patient assessment, monitoring, and recovery.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, scrub and circulator staff to maintain sterile technique and safe patient flow.
- Administer medications and monitor for anesthesia-related events per perioperative protocols; respond to intraoperative emergencies as needed.
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record; ensure accurate handoffs between perioperative phases.
- Support post-anesthesia care recovery and ensure safe transfer to appropriate units; participate in patient education and discharge planning as needed.
- Schedule considerations include one weekend every 6 weeks and one weeknight per week on a 6-week cycle.
Requirements
- Current California RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 1 year acute care OR RN experience
- 5 years preop/phase 2/PACU experience
- Must be recent (within last 3 months)
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts on a 13-week travel assignment; start date: 04/27/2026
