Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to laboring patients, antepartum, and postpartum patients, including newborn assessment and initial stabilization
- Monitor fetal status with external/internal fetal monitoring and respond to nonreassuring patterns
- Assist with deliveries, including cesarean births, and provide anesthesia/analgesia support as indicated (epidural/analgesia)
- Perform routine newborn care, manage thermoregulation, feeding support, and couplett care of mother and baby
- Document accurately in EPIC, participate in care planning, and educate patients on postpartum recovery and newborn care
- Recognize obstetric emergencies, implement evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety

Requirements
- Licensure: Active WA RN license or compact state license
- Certifications: BCLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
- Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; first-time travelers accepted; ideal experience in facilities with 200+ deliveries, with consideration for 100–200 deliveries
- Skills: Sterile Vaginal Exam (SVE) experience; external/internal fetal monitoring (EFM/IUPC); labor & delivery, newborn assessment/NRP, VBAC management, cesarean support/recovery, postpartum hemorrhage management
- Charting: EPIC experience required
- References: Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
- Additional qualifications: Ability to float to postpartum; compliant with unit policies and safety standards
- Compliance notes: Background/Nursys disclosure at submittal; mile radius 50 miles; locals not accepted; pre-approved time off (RTO) disclosed at submittal (limit 5 days); willingness to work 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, New Year’s Day); return traveler minimum 3 months
