Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult cardiac telemetry patients, including monitoring and rhythm interpretation.
- Interpret dysrhythmias, respond to telemetry alarms, and escalate changes in patient status per protocol.
- Administer and manage cardiac medications and IV drips as directed (no titration required by the role).
- Provide post-cardiac surgery care, including patients recovering from TAVR/LAA procedures, PCI, and related interventions; care for chest tubes and external pacemakers as indicated.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Services, etc.); chart accurately in EPIC and participate in unit rounding and handoffs; float within the service line as needed.
Requirements
- Active RN license required; pending license accepted per compliance notes (state-specific rules apply) with verification as needed.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; Cardiac Telemetry/acute care preferred.
- Certifications: BCLS; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required.
- ACLS certification required by compliance deadline; CPI training encouraged/desirable.
- Weekend rotation is required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule); ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Locals: not accepted within 75 miles of the facility (travel candidates outside the radius preferred).
