Responsibilities
- Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care for GI/endoscopy patients in the lab setting
- Assist physicians and technologists during endoscopic procedures, including scope handling and instrument preparation
- Monitor vital signs and patient status; administer medications and sedatives per protocol; respond to adverse events
- Maintain sterile technique, infection control standards, and safe workflow between cases
- Document assessments, procedures, medications, and post-procedure instructions in the patient record
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and quality care
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in GI/endoscopy nursing
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- Ability to work in a GI lab environment and adapt to a fast-paced, procedure-focused setting
- Availability for a 13-week travel assignment with 40 hours per week guaranteed
- Willingness to meet credentialing and onboarding requirements for placement
