Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse, PCU – Olathe, Kansas. Travel assignment in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. Start dates: July 6, 2026 or July 20, 2026, for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,028 per week to $2,187 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour Nights. This assignment requires floating to ICU and other inpatient units as needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care for PCU patients, including assessments, medication administration, wound care, and ongoing monitoring.
- Manage respiratory support and complex care needs, including BiPAP, chest tubes, and PICC lines; perform and document tasks such as drawing own labs when required.
- Collaborate with the care team, initiate and follow through on patient consults, and participate in timely codes and emergency response as needed.
- Document care and changes in patient condition in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and ensure clear handoffs during transitions.
- Float to ICU and other inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, ED) per unit needs and prior experience.
- Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires is preferred and may be leveraged during patient care when available.
Requirements
- Licensure: KS RN or Compact RN license; BLS, ACLS, and NIHF certifications
- Experience: 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
- Skills: Strong critical thinking; ability to manage BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, draw labs; comfortable without a dedicated vascular access team; ability to call own consults and participate in codes
- Floating: Ability to float to ICU and multiple inpatient units as needed
- Open-heart experience: Day 2/Day 3 with pacer wires preferred
