Responsibilities
- Provide basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients as ordered by the physician and in accordance with department policies
- Perform procedures such as airway management, ventilator support, suctioning, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medications
- Complete paperwork, electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charges for each patient
- Work well without supervision and, as delegated, supervise other staff as needed
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and department policies
Requirements
- Active respiratory therapy license in California or eligibility to practice per state requirements
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential or eligible for credentialing
- Ability to work in a hospital setting with adult and geriatric patients
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and patient documentation
