Registered Nurse - PCU, travel assignment in Atlanta, GA. Start date 06/01/2026 for 13 weeks. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult patients in PCU/IMCU with cardiac conditions, aligned with evidence-based practices.
- Monitor telemetry, interpret vitals and rhythm strips, recognize deterioration, and escalate promptly to the care team.
- Administer medications and infusions typical of cardiac populations, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and vasopressors, with careful titration and monitoring for adverse effects.
- Manage STEMI/NSTEMI patient care, chest pain evaluation, and coordination of rapid response or cath lab activation as ordered; collaborate with cardiology and multidisciplinary teams.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record; participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, adhere to BLS/ACLS protocols, and uphold nurse-to-patient ratios (typical 1:3-4) in a high-acuity PCU/IMCU setting.
- Complete onboarding tasks such as loading all demographic information and badge photo in the system as part of the assignment start process.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (state of practice); appropriate licensing for the travel assignment in the listed location
- Documented PCU experience in prior work history
- BLS and ACLS certifications current at start of assignment
- Experience with cardiac care, including monitoring and managing patients with myocardial infarction and related conditions, and familiarity with inotropic infusions and vasopressors
- Ability to work in a 28-bed PCU/IMCU environment with a 1:3–4 patient ratio and to participate in a 2x3-day travel assignment in the Atlanta area
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to load demographic information and complete onboarding requirements
