Responsibilities
- Provide advanced cardiovascular and critical care nursing for CVICU patients, including post-operative cardiac surgery care.
- Continuously monitor hemodynamics, cardiac rhythms, invasive lines, ventilator status, and overall neurological status as part of ICU care.
- Administer medications and vasoactive infusions per protocol; assess for adverse effects and interactions.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other care team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Respond to emergencies, participate in rapid response and code events, and implement ICU-level interventions as needed.
- Document care accurately, translate orders into effective interventions, and uphold infection control and patient safety standards.

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California) – Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – Required
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – Required within 1 year of hire or transfer into the department
- NIHSS certification/competence – Required
- Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced ICU environment; ICU/critical care experience preferred
