Responsibilities
- Provide holistic, individualized nursing care on the OB unit using the nursing process.
- Demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, and teaching skills to support high-quality patient care.
- Independently perform general and unit-specific clinical skills; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate all assigned patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse.
- Manage care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-op gynecologic patients; monitor maternal and fetal status; administer medications; ensure accurate documentation.
- Maintain supplies and equipment; promote teamwork with physicians and personnel across hospital departments; adhere to privacy, confidentiality, and patient rights policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the health care team; support patient education and discharge planning.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice; state-specific licensure as required.
- One year minimum of acute care RN experience.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate, and STABLE.
- Ability to work in a high-acuity OB unit according to department standards.
- Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 per state mandate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; basic computer proficiency.
