The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures and delivers all modalities of respiratory care from newborn to geriatric across emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings. The role supports patient care in a high-altitude environment and collaborates with the care team to ensure safe, effective respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities
- Perform cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures and administer respiratory therapies for patients from newborn to geriatric.
- Manage ventilator support and weaning as ordered, monitor patient status, and adjust therapy accordingly.
- Deliver oxygen therapy, airway clearance techniques, bronchodilators, humidification, and aerosolized medications; support high-risk deliveries and neonates as qualified.
- Monitor patient responses, collect and interpret ABG results, and coordinate with physicians to modify treatment plans; document care in the electronic medical record (EPIC preferred).
- Maintain equipment and ensure infection control standards; provide patient and family education; participate in multidisciplinary rounds and emergency responses as needed.
- Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards; function effectively in a high-altitude environment and rapidly changing clinical situations.
Requirements
- Unrestricted license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required (may be obtained upon hire); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program Advanced Provider (NRP).
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Minimum 2 years of well-rounded RT experience with a diverse patient population.
- EPIC experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and to function safely in a high-elevation environment (~8,000 feet) at Aspen.
- Note: Not accepting any time off requests (RTO) during the assignment.
