- No floating to other departments during the assignment
Responsibilities
- Coordinate nursing care for adolescent inpatients with behavioral health needs
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse effects
- Conduct and document assessments; participate in care planning and discharge teaching
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, safety, and coping strategies
- Use the EMR system (Meditech) for orders, documentation, and communication
- Collaborate with the unit team in a 12-bed, team-based model; respond to crises
Requirements
- Hawaii RN license required by start date of assignment
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience
- BLS and crisis prevention training (NCI or equivalent)
- Proficient with EMR, specifically Meditech
- Ability to work 3x12 rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Eligible and ready to work in an adolescent behavioral health inpatient setting; no cross-department floating
