Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on telemetry-capable Med/Surg units, including initial and ongoing assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor patients with telemetry, identify arrhythmias or clinical changes, and respond per policy and physician orders
- Administer medications and treatments safely, document accurately, and monitor for adverse effects
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nurses, physicians, techs, and case management) to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, patient education, and progress in the medical record
- May participate in leadership activities when assigned, including acting as charge nurse, precepting new staff, or serving on unit committees as appropriate
- Ensure patient safety, infection control practices, and adherence to evidence-based standards of care
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating Day/Night schedule, including Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge per unit needs
- Eligibility to work in Rochester, NY, and comply with unit policies and hospital standards
