Registered Nurse – Med Surg Tele in Newport, VT. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for Med/Surg Tele patients, including monitoring, ongoing assessments, and timely response to changes in clinical condition
- Administer medications and IV therapies; assist with procedures and wound care as ordered
- Document accurately in the electronic health record; communicate plans of care with the interdisciplinary team and families
- Assume charge nurse duties as assigned; supervise patient care staff and coordinate unit operations during shifts
- Float to other units when needed; adapt to varying patient acuity and unit requirements
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary teams to ensure safe discharge planning and continuity of care
Requirements
- Active RN license in Vermont or eligibility for VT licensure; BLS certification required
- 1+ year of Med/Surg/Telemetry/Tele unit experience; travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work nights (7 p.m.–7 a.m.) and every other weekend; ability to float to other units; capability to perform charge nurse duties as needed
- ADN or BSN degree from an accredited program
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
- Proficient with electronic health records and effective in a fast-paced, team-based environment
