Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including management of emergencies and circulating for C-sections.
- Monitor fetal and maternal status, assess amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and respond to perinatal complications with appropriate clinical judgment.
- Manage labor pain control and administer/coordinate analgesia; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor effects.
- Educate patients and families across all stages of perinatal care, using approaches aligned with age, culture, and learning readiness.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement an age-appropriate, goal-oriented care plan; supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff within scope of practice.
- Demonstrate accurate, legible documentation of nursing care and patient response; participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives as needed.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current California RN license
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience; LDRP model experience
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent per policy; EPIC experience or strong EHR proficiency
- Additional: Ability to work night shifts (3x12 schedule) in a short-term acute care setting; strong clinical judgment for perinatal emergencies (e.g., crash C-section, shoulder dystocia)
