Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for labor and delivery patients in line with organizational policies and professional standards.
- Monitor fetal status with electronic fetal monitoring, respond to non-reassuring findings, and coordinate with the obstetric team.
- Administer medications as ordered, support labor progression, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.
- Provide education and psychosocial support to patients and families; promote safety, infection control, and comfort measures.
- Document care accurately in the medical record and contribute to quality improvement through observation and communication with the care team.
Requirements
- Active Maryland RN license (verification less than 30 days old) or equivalent
- 2+ years of recent high-volume Labor & Delivery experience
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP; Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification; NIHSS certification
- COVID-19 vaccination per state record; declinations not accepted
- Willing to obtain EFM certification within 48 hours if offered
- Willing to obtain NIHSS certification within 48 hours if offered
- Ability to work the facility’s schedule; locals accepted
- Education: graduate of an accredited RN program; current RN licensure
