Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Obstetrics, travel assignment in a Critical Access Hospital located in Salmon, Idaho. Start date: 08/10/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,568 to $2,735 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12 Nights. This role focuses on compassionate, skilled care for obstetric patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period, with cross-coverage to the Med/Surg unit when OB patient load is light.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric nursing care for laboring mothers, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborns; monitor maternal and fetal status including fetal monitoring as indicated.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and wound care per physician orders; assist with labor and delivery and provide patient education on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn health.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care; document assessments and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and families, promoting postpartum independence and self-care skills; coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to support complex care needs.
- When OB patient volume is low, provide Med/Surg nursing care to maintain staffing and continuity of care; participate in emergency response and adapt assignments as needed.
- Maintain accurate charting, communicate with nursing teams, delegate tasks to CNAs/ESTs/Unit Clerks, and participate in in-service education to support professional growth.
Requirements
- Current RN license in Idaho or approved compact state licensure
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing; BSN preferred
- Minimum of 1 year obstetric nursing experience
- BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required upon hire; PALS required upon hire or within one year
- Ability to work in obstetric and cross-cover Med/Surg settings; available for weekends, holidays, and shift rotations as needed
