Responsibilities
- Provide direct professional nursing care to oncology patients across age groups as assigned for the shift.
- Prescribe and deliver nursing care based on the nursing process, aligned with the medical plan of care and input from patients and significant others.
- Collaborate with physicians and other members of the health care team to coordinate delivery of care and ensure appropriate transitions.
- Administer medications and treatments per orders; monitor for adverse effects and respond to changes in patient status.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes; communicate clearly with the care team and patients/families.
- Incorporate teaching and discharge planning needs into the overall plan of care; delegate appropriate aspects of care to other nursing staff according to scope of practice.
- This position is represented by CNA.
Requirements
- Licensure, certifications, and experience requirements are defined in the Job Notes and will be verified during the hiring process.
- Ability to provide care for patients across an age range as assigned by the unit.
- Capability to work in a hospital setting with oncology patients and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and to participate in travel assignments.
- Willingness to work days, 12-hour shifts (3x12) and to meet assignment location requirements.
- Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills appropriate for a high-acuity clinical environment.
