Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients using the nursing process and established standards.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and manage clinical assessments with attention to safety and quality.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, evaluate progress, and adjust interventions as needed.
- Provide patient and family education; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with the care team to maintain a safe, healing environment and ensure proper documentation of care.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in California (state of practice)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- At least two years of recent acute care experience in Med Surg or a similar unit
- CPR/BLS certification required; Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved vendor; ACLS required (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS)
- Epic experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital Med Surg environment
- Current licensure and ability to meet organization vaccination requirements as applicable
