Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult IMCU/PCU patients, including ongoing assessment, care planning, and documentation
- Monitor vital signs, intake/output, labs, and hemodynamic status; identify changes and escalate per protocol
- Administer medications and therapies, including IV heparin drips, per physician orders and hospital protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, APRNs, and the care team to implement care plans for sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, CKD, and related conditions
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and education; perform procedure-related tasks within scope; assist with transfers and discharges; maintain accurate EMR documentation
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience in an IMCU/PCU or equivalent high-acuity setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with heparin drips and anticoagulation management
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, 4 days per week, with guaranteed 48 hours per week
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and nursing documentation
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity IMCU/PCU environment and to collaborate effectively with the care team
