Registered Nurse – Home Health (Travel) in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Start date: 04/20/2026 for a 14-week travel assignment. Weekly pay: $1,975 to $2,043. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Responsibilities
- Assess home health and hospice patients in stable and emergent situations to identify physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs; document findings and participate in team evaluations and case conferences.
- Implement, develop, document, and evaluate the Plan of Care (POC) to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Collect data on physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural factors that influence patient and family health status; incorporate data into the POC.
- Maintain up-to-date patient records with visits, contacts, problems, plans, actions, and goals; reflect changes as they occur.
- Deliver care using infection control measures to protect staff and patients; educate patients and families on care, medications, home safety, and related topics; tailor teaching to age, condition, culture, and learning readiness.
- Supervise and provide clinical direction to Home Health Aide/State Registered Nursing Assistant/Licensed Vocational Nurse to ensure quality and continuity of service.
- Assess and reassess pain; apply appropriate pain management techniques; educate patient and family on pain management strategies.
- Arrange referrals to appropriate agencies when needed; monitor third‑party payer requirements; participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, team members, and other health professionals; attend interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
Requirements
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) – Required
- Certification: Proof of current CPR (BLS) – Required; CHPN certification – Preferred
- OASIS experience – Required
- Homecare Homebase Software experience – Required
- 1–2 years of RN experience in a clinical care setting – Required
- 2+ years of Home Health experience – Required
- Education: ADN or Nursing Diploma program graduate – Required; BSN – Preferred
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel locally
- Knowledge of venipuncture/IV care; wound care and decubiti care; indwelling catheters and drains; safe use of durable medical equipment and restraints (when under physician orders); ability to develop and initiate bowel/bladder training programs for home care/hospice patients
