Responsibilities
- Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians.
- Position and instruct patients prior to examination, ensuring proper shielding and patient safety.
- Adjust imaging equipment and determine proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph to optimize image quality.
- Verify image quality and document results according to department policy; follow radiation safety guidelines.
- Maintain imaging equipment and contribute to efficient patient flow within the radiology workflow.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team to support accurate diagnoses and quality patient care.
Requirements
- Ability to operate x-ray equipment and perform radiographic examinations as ordered.
- Ability to position patients and provide clear instructions prior to imaging.
- Knowledge of adjusting voltage, current, and exposure time to achieve diagnostic-quality images.
- Commitment to radiation safety standards and adherence to departmental policies in a hospital setting.
