Responsibilities
- Administer the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Perform non-complex active and passive manual therapy, therapeutic massage, and modalities (e.g., traction, heat, cold, light, water, electrical) as indicated.
- Accurately document patient status and submit clinical paperwork to the office on a timely basis.
- Attend educational meetings and contribute to department in-services.
- Notify the Physical Therapist, Clinical Manager, or Director of equipment failures, supply shortages, staff or patient changes, and other department updates.
- Schedule patients and handle related office tasks as needed.
- Apply infection control principles and universal precautions in care delivery.
- Accept clinical assignments aligned with education and competence to care for patients.
- Support compliance with third-party payors through education and guidance when appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in the practicing state.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with insurance.
- Minimum 2 years of physical therapy assistant experience.
- Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally as required.
- Ability to work effectively in a healthcare setting and maintain professional boundaries.
