Responsibilities
- Perform triage and initial assessment for patients across all ages in the Emergency Department.
- Administer medications, provide procedural support, monitor patient status, and escalate care as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team; communicate with patients and families; participate in discharge planning and education.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record; maintain infection prevention and safety standards.
- Recognize and respond to deteriorating conditions; participate in codes and critical interventions as directed.
- Manage patient-centered care with emphasis on comfort, safety, and family communication throughout the ED stay.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York State
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
- ED experience: 2 years in the Emergency Department; 1 year acute hospital experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and on-call shifts as scheduled
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to assess and address patient and family needs
