Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical nursing care to individuals in a corrections setting, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment planning.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed; observe and document responses and adverse effects.
- Perform routine and urgent nursing procedures, including vital signs, wound care, and basic life support as indicated.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record; ensure compliance with standards, policies, and infection control practices.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support medical, behavioral health, and safety needs; communicate effectively with supervisors and security staff as appropriate.
- Respond promptly to clinical changes or emergencies; initiate escalation and provide timely interventions within scope of practice.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in the United States
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Holds a nursing degree such as ADN/BSN)
- Ability to work evenings and commit to 40 hours per week
- Experience in a clinical setting; corrections experience preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain health clearances and immunizations as required
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
