Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled occupational therapy services to residents under the supervision of a licensed OT, contributing to evaluation, treatment planning, and progress toward goals.
- Implement individualized treatment goals with therapeutic activities focused on activities of daily living, mobility, strength, endurance, and range of motion.
- Perform ongoing assessments, document progress, and support adjustments to the care plan; maintain accurate, timely notes in the electronic medical record.
- Monitor patient safety during therapy, assist with transfers and use of adaptive equipment, and collaborate with nursing staff to optimize daily function and safety.
- Communicate effectively with the interprofessional team and families; participate in care conferences and discharge planning as needed.
- Adhere to facility policies, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations while delivering high-quality care.
Requirements
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
- Ability to work in a daytime shift within a skilled nursing facility setting
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to document clearly and work independently as part of a team
