Travel Registered Nurse OR Job
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) travel assignment in Rochester, New York. Start date: 05/25/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Shift: 12-hour shifts on a rotating D/E/N schedule with on-call/callback, floating, and holidays/weekends as needed by unit. Weekly pay: $2,017-$2,175. No guaranteed hours. The assignment occurs in a hospital OR with a diverse case mix, including general surgery, orthopedics, plastics, orthopedic/reconstructive, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma (level 1 trauma center). Two DaVinci robotic systems support multi-service procedures, and the transplant program involves livers, kidneys, and hearts. This is a travel - temporary assignment with a focus on perioperative care in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate for a wide range of operative cases, maintaining sterile technique and instrument tracking
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and intraoperative patient care across multiple specialties
- Support utilization of two DaVinci robotic systems and assist in robotic-assisted procedures when applicable
- Monitor intraoperative telemetry and respond to emergent events in collaboration with the surgical team
- Ensure accurate documentation of perioperative care, implants, counts, and procedures
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and circulating staff; participate in post-anesthesia recovery handoffs as needed
- Demonstrate flexibility to float to related services and adapt to unit-specific needs and schedules
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York (NY state license only)
- Two (2) years operating room experience, with preference for level 1 trauma hospital background
- Able to scrub and circulate
- BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
- Telemetry experience
- ACLS certification preferred
- Must be eligible to work in a high-acuity OR environment and participate in on-call rotations as required
Education
- Nursing degree with active NY RN licensure
- Appropriate perioperative nursing knowledge and competencies as demonstrated by OR experience
