Travel Registered Nurse MICU Job
Registered Nurse – MICU (Travel) in an ICU-level hospital setting in Everett, WA. This travel assignment starts on 05/04/2026 and runs for Weeks. Expect a weekly pay range of $1,804–$1,933 with guaranteed hours of 60 per 2-week pay period. Shift pattern is 3x12-hour days. You will work in a high-acuity Medical ICU, a Level II trauma center environment that cares for medically complex adults and geriatrics.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult and geriatric ICU patients with medically complex, critically ill conditions (e.g., respiratory failure, ARDS, post-CVL, severe shock, post-procedural care).
- Manage ventilator support (including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP), perform arterial/central line care, and monitor/ titrate vasoactive/cardiac drips; interpret ABGs; administer IV therapies.
- Assist with procedures such as chest tubes, rapid sequence intubation, paracentesis/thoracentesis, and procedural sedation monitoring; provide post-procedure care.
- Monitor patient status, recognize dysrhythmias, respond to codes, and support proning and temperature management (TTM) as needed.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (RN, CNA, RT, PT, pharmacy, IV team) with standard staffing of 1 CNA per shift; communicate clearly in handoffs and care plans.
- Maintain meticulous documentation in the Epic electronic charting system; ensure accurate, timely updates and compliance with unit protocols.
- Provide care within typical 2:1 ratios, with potential adjustments (up to 4:1 when boarders are grouped); participate in patient/family education and safety initiatives.
- May be asked to float to step-down or tele units as part of staffing, with appropriate orientation and supervision.
Requirements
- Licensure: Active RN license in Washington or a WA Compact; traveling assignment with non-local status (locals not accepted).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience; trauma Level II exposure is required; patient-ratio experience around 2:1 preferred; first-time travelers accepted only with 2–3 years of experience.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
- Education: Standard RN qualifications; EPIC charting experience preferred.
- References: Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year total within the last 3 years.
- Skills: Ventilator management, invasive line care, vasoactive drips, ABG interpretation, chest tube and airway management, post-cardiac cath care, proning, TTM familiarity.
- Scheduling: Weekend shifts required; pre-approved time off limited to two requests; 24-hour orientation provided.
- Onboarding: Pre-start modules average ~16 hours (non-billable); >20 hours requires approval.
- Additional: Must be comfortable with high-acuity, fast-paced ICU operations and be able to work EPIC-based documentation reliably.
