Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients on a 10-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit, handling admissions, transfers, and discharges; maintain a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Monitor patient status and telemetry, administer medications and IV therapies, perform procedures within scope, and update care plans accordingly
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other health professionals; respond to changes in patient condition and escalate as needed
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly and accurately; ensure compliance with unit and hospital policies
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions; support safe transitions of care
Requirements
- Active RN license with Nursys license verification
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience in an acute care setting
- Ability to work Day shift on a 12-hour, three-days-per-week pattern; strong communication and independent work style
- Willingness to participate in holiday coverage as specified in assignment details
