Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to patients per physician orders, including ventilation support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance therapies, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assess patient response to therapy, adjust treatments, monitor oxygenation, and document progress.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis as needed and operate respiratory care equipment, including ventilators (as applicable), oxygen delivery devices, and related monitoring devices.
- Document care in the electronic medical record (Epic) and manage medications through the Pyxis system.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the broader care team; participate in rounds and contribute to care plans; educate patients and families as appropriate.
- Float to multiple units as needed (Medical–Surgical, Emergency Department, Birthing Center) and adhere to unit expectations and rotation as needed.

Requirements
- Vermont state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required.
- Certification: NBRC-credentialed as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or eligible to take NBRC written exam.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, and NRP (NRP required upon submission).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; minimum 2 years in respiratory specialty.
- NICU experience within the last year is required.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; comfortable floating to M/S, ED, and Birthing Center as needed.
- Epic experience (within the past 2 years) is highly preferred.
