Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, from pre-op assessment through post-anesthesia care.
- Scrub and circulate for procedures; assist surgeons and anesthesia team; maintain sterile technique and instrument handling.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, manage equipment and supplies, document events, and ensure accurate specimen handling.
- Collaborate with the surgical team, anesthesia, and other perioperative staff to optimize patient safety and outcomes.
- Ensure room turnover, adherence to infection control practices, and compliance with hospital policies.
- Be flexible with a rotating schedule and on-call duties, including evenings to 7 a.m. and weekend coverage; participate in holiday coverage as required.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license (NURSYS verification) with all licenses listed; license verification must be current.
- Minimum 1 year of operating room nursing experience; travel experience documented; first-time travelers will not be considered.
- Current AHA BLS certification; BLS profile to be verified through IVS Clinical Interview Service.
- Seasonal flu vaccine required.
- Documentation: 2 recent Manager/Supervisor references in OR, skills checklist matching OR specialty, and a valid driver’s license with address matching demographics.
- EMR experience preferred (EPIC is a plus).
- RTO (requested time off) must be included at submission; RTO requests will not be guaranteed after confirmation.
