Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care per physician orders across ICU and ED, including ventilator management, airway support, CPT, bronchodilator therapy, and humidification.
- Assess and treat patients of all ages; NICU/PICU involvement is required, though there is no dedicated NICU/PICU unit.
- Document care activities and patient responses in the EMR (EPIC) with timely, accurate entries.
- Participate in rounds and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes; respond to respiratory emergencies as needed.
- Ensure adherence to AHA guidelines and verify compliance with required certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) and NBRC verification.
- Maintain equipment readiness, perform routine checks, troubleshoot alarms, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license (RRT) and NBRC verification
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Neonate/pediatric NICU/PICU experience required (not a dedicated NICU/PICU, but significant role in care)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and participate in a travel assignment
- Documentation across all specialties must be complete in each employment entry
- Reliable transportation required; public transportation is not available in the area; winter vehicle readiness advised
