Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care on the Medical-Surgical unit, monitoring and stabilizing patients as needed.
- Assess patients, develop and implement care plans, administer medications and IV therapies, and document clinical interventions accurately.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, respond to changes in patient condition, and implement stroke precautions and protocols when indicated.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, maintain infection prevention practices, and provide clear patient and family education.
- Prepare and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; maintain thorough and compliant charting in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS and ACLS certifications per American Heart Association requirements
- 3 years of Med Surg RN experience
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- Must have worked in a specialty unit within the last 3 months
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts on a Med Surg unit in a critical access hospital setting
