Histotechnologist – Histotechnologist, Watertown, NY. Start date 05/26/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital setting. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Responsibilities
- Process, embed, cut, and stain surgical and autopsy tissue for Pathologist review
- Prepare and stain cytopathology specimens according to established procedures
- Manage tissue handling, documentation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment; prepare microscopic sections for diagnostic interpretation
- Perform specialized, selective histology techniques as required for diagnostic purposes
- Participate in the laboratory’s Quality Assurance program and ensure compliance with policies
- Maintain accurate records and support Pathologist interpretation through proper slide preparation
Requirements
- New York State Histotechnician license (AAS) required
- HTL certification from a recognized agency
- Education: Bachelor of Science in medical technology, biology, and chemistry, or HTL certification from a recognized agency
- Ability to work daytime 8-hour shifts with start times around 5:30 a.m. or 6:00 a.m.; 40 hours per week during a 13-week assignment
