Responsibilities
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop and implement plan of care per regulatory and clinical standards
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support interventions; document patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly
- Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services; prepare comprehensive discharge summaries per regulatory requirements
- Provide counseling and education to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders
- Communicate findings and plans with supervisors and the health team; maintain accurate records in the electronic documentation system
- Participate in required meetings (care conferences, utilization review, rehabilitation meetings) and required trainings; supervise CFY or student SLPs as applicable
- Adhere to ASHA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics during professional practice
Requirements
- Texas State Licensure to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist (active)
- CCC-SLP certification (required)
- Active ASHA certification and State licensure
- 1 year of SLP experience (LTC or Rehab setting preferred)
- New graduates accepted with Level II experience (not solely Level I observation)
- 3 years CCS experience preferred
