Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated, evidence-based nursing care for an individual patient or assigned group of patients in the ER, following established standards and the nursing process.
- Conduct rapid and thorough patient assessments, prioritize needs, develop and update care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient responses to therapies.
- Activate and manage emergent situations, including triage, rapid assessment, and escalation of care according to protocol; collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines.
- Supervise and direct activities of various nursing staff levels; delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining professional judgment and accountability.
- Document care plans, progress notes, procedures, and discharge instructions in the electronic health record; ensure accurate handoffs and continuity of care.
- Maintain patient safety, comfort, and privacy; uphold infection control practices and adapt care to meet diverse patient and family education needs.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to work night shifts in a high-acuity ER environment
- Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize under pressure
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with a diverse care team
