Responsibilities
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to Med Surg patients in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies
- Monitor patient status, including telemetry, perform neuro assessments, interpret alarms, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and support pain control and symptom management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and update patient care plans; document accurately in the EMR (Meditech preferred)
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and discharge planning; support patient and family education
- Maintain patient safety, perform thorough assessments, document findings, and ensure quality standards are met during the shift
- May float to similar units as needed based on unit census and patient needs
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license (MA RN License)
- BLS certification (ARC or AHA)
- Travel nursing experience required
- Strong telemetry and neuro nursing skills
- Meditech experience preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and to float to similar units as needed
- Must be able to work 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. shifts and be available for the assigned schedule, including every-other weekend and every-other holiday; must be able to work Christmas Eve or Christmas Day based on unit needs (no RTO for either day)
