Responsibilities
- Provide PTA support under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to patients in an LTAC setting.
- Assist with patient evaluations, development of plan of care, and implementation of prescribed treatment programs.
- Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, range of motion work, and functional mobility training.
- Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and activities of daily living as directed; monitor safety and patient response to therapy.
- Document patient progress and outcomes accurately in charting; communicate changes to the PT and care team.
- Maintain infection control standards, equipment safety, and a clean, safe treatment environment; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning and patient education.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in New Mexico or eligibility for licensure
- Ability to work in a LTAC/post-acute care setting
- CPR/BLS certification or equivalent
- Willingness to travel and commit to a 13-week assignment
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
