Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgery according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively; document findings and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at multiple levels; coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members.
- Maintain sterile technique, infection control, and patient safety throughout perioperative care.
- Prepare and manage OR equipment, instruments, and supplies; assist with patient positioning and surgical setup.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to support optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (California) in good standing
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- OR nursing experience or strong perioperative nursing skills; ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts as scheduled (36 hours per week)
- Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to meet credentialing and hospital system requirements for perioperative care
