Responsibilities
- Provide skilled PTA services under the supervision of a PT within a LTAC team.
- Implement treatment plans and assist with progress toward established functional goals.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, ROM, strengthening, manual techniques, and modality applications as directed.
- Monitor patient response during therapy sessions, document outcomes, and communicate changes or safety concerns to the supervising PT.
- Support patient and family education on exercises, activity strategies, and self-management for daily living.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, nurses, and other care team members to optimize discharge planning and continuity of care.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligibility to practice in the United States; current licensure in state of practice preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Ability to work in a LTAC/long-term care setting and adapt to a travel assignment.
- Experience in LTAC or similar care environments is preferred but not required.
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to follow a plan of care and respond to supervision.
