Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Registered Nurse – PACU (Perioperative) in Rochester, NY. Travel assignment begins August 10, 2026 for weeks in a hospital-based PACU unit focused on Phase I & II recovery. This 27-bed unit supports general surgery, orthopedics (spine and total joints), Endo/Laparoscopic cases, and related post-op care in a short-term acute care teaching hospital. Epic charting is in use and teal scrubs are provided. Weekly pay ranges from $1,961 to $2,110 per week. There are no guaranteed hours for this assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU care for post-anesthesia patients, including airway management, ETCO2 monitoring, and post-op vital sign assessment.
- Manage pain control strategies (PCA/epidural) and monitor for post-anesthesia complications; respond to deterioration and escalate to anesthesia as needed.
- Perform postoperative assessments, maintain accurate documentation in Epic, and communicate updates to the surgical and anesthesia teams.
- Initiate and maintain IV access, start IVs, and assist with basic central line/PICC-related tasks; assist with blood product administration per orders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (IV teams, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, RRT, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary) to support smooth patient flow and discharge planning.
Requirements
- NY RN license in hand to submit
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Epic charting experience required (hard requirement)
- PACU Phase I & II experience; pediatric PACU experience is helpful
- Ability to float to related unit areas as needed
- Candidates located within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible; first-time travelers accepted
