Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications safely and document administration in the chart.
- Perform ongoing nursing assessments and monitor residents, noting changes and reporting to the supervising RN.
- Support residents with activities of daily living and provide supportive care aligned with individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly to call bells and respond to emergencies with appropriate actions per protocol.
- Maintain infection prevention practices, patient safety, and confidentiality in all care activities.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and other health care professionals to implement and adjust care plans as needed.
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license appropriate for practice in Alabama.
- Ability to work a 3x12-night rotation (18:00–06:00) and participate in the described shift rotation.
- Availability to commit to a 6-week assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; capable of documenting clearly and following care plans.
- Experience or comfort working in a long-term care / skilled nursing setting.
- Willingness to comply with facility policies, procedures, and safety standards.
