Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care as ordered, including assessment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of treatment plans.
- Administer inhaled and aerosol therapies, oxygen delivery, airway clearance techniques, and ventilator support as indicated; monitor patient response and adjust therapies under physician orders.
- Perform ventilator management, including setup, adjustments, weaning assessments, and daily rounds in collaboration with the care team.
- Obtain and interpret respiratory data (e.g., pulse oximetry, capnography, ABGs as appropriate) and document results in the patient record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapy teams to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care; respond to clinical changes and emergencies as needed.
- Maintain infection control practices, equipment maintenance, and safe medication administration per department policies.
Requirements
- Active Georgia license as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in good standing with the Georgia Composite Medical Board.
- NBRC credential: RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist).
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in respiratory care within the specialty.
- Ability to work a 2x3 night shift schedule in a hospital setting.
