Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients, including assessment, monitoring, and management of acute and chronic respiratory conditions
- Administer prescribed therapies (nebulized medications, humidified gases), manage ventilator support and weaning as ordered
- Monitor patient status through vital signs and device alarms; adjust therapies per protocol and physician orders
- Perform arterial blood gas collection and analysis; document results and respond to abnormal values
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory care equipment; ensure patient safety and infection control standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team; document interventions and participate in care planning; educate patients and families as needed
Requirements
- Active Georgia Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
- NBRC RRT certification
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the specialty
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift on a travel assignment (13 weeks)
- Compliance with state licensure requirements and facility policies
