Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an ICU patient or assigned group of patients according to the nursing process and established standards of care.
- Supervise and direct activities of various nursing staff levels; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Collect relevant data, analyze assessments, develop and implement a care plan, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient status, respond to emergencies, and maintain safety and infection control.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team; provide education and participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the healthcare team to support a safe, healing environment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum two years of recent ICU/acute care experience
- EPIC EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital ICU setting; able to participate in a travel assignment; available for 12-hour shifts; may be required to work one holiday per assignment policy
